What Exactly Is a Cake Smash Photoshoot?
In simple terms, a cake smash photography session does exactly what it says. It is a tradition originating from Australia and has been accepted as the ideal way to make a baby’s first birthday special and to get some pretty incredible shots of raw, unfiltered emotions.
Now, this doesn't mean you have to spend a lot to have a cake smash photoshoot in Dubai; it can be as simple as making your own cake or getting one done and just giving it to your baby to do whatever they like with it. Then, a professional photographer will be able to take pictures of them interacting and playing with the cake.

Generally, many of my clients choose to have their baby’s cake smash photography session on the actual date of their first birthday. Some want to do this ahead of time so they can have images for the party invites or social media posts on the actual birthday. If you prefer the latter, it is best to book a session at least 3 weeks before the actual birthday; that way, there is enough time for the editing process.
That being said, as an experienced kids photographer, I always tell my clients to book well in advance if possible. At least 2-3 months before is perfect, as it gives plenty of time to prepare, style, and get better inspirations to recreate your vision.
